It’s like a dream come true. A year where I don’t have to work, and I can do all of the things I’ve always wanted to do. I have time to write all of the stories that I’ve been dreaming about for years. In this time poor world, it feels like I’ve won the lottery.
Of course, I’m still time poor. I have two foster kids, and as anyone who has children knows, that’s a full time job in itself. I live on a farm, with gardens, fruit trees, chickens, dogs, even calves to feed at the moment. I still do a few days of work here and there. But in amongst all that, there are minutes, even hours, when I can sit down and write. Luxury!
This page is a place to collect all of the things I’ve been working on — short stories, some random musings, the local history column I’ve been writing for the Esperance Tide, other odds and ends. In among my more ‘serious’ projects, I’ve started writing a lighthearted story called ‘Tuesday Afternoon Murder Club’, a (hopefully) funny draft for a novel set in a retirement village. I’m going to publish it here as a serial, so if you want to have a read, you’ll find the first chapter here. Welcome! Have a browse, and I hope you enjoy the eclectic collection….
